A poker table is the most honest room your team will sit in all year. Read people, weigh the odds, commit under pressure, and do it while everyone is watching. The same instincts that win a hand are the ones that close a deal, settle a negotiation and hold a nerve in a tense meeting. Our corporate poker workshop puts your team around full-size tables with professional dealers and a facilitator who draws the lessons out as you play. No money changes hands. The only thing at stake is what your people learn about themselves and each other.
If it is one game you would like to learn socially rather than a team day, see our casino masterclass, or compare the two on the masterclasses overview.

Why Poker, and Why It Works on a Team
Most team-building asks people to pretend. Build a raft, solve a riddle, trust-fall into a colleague’s arms. Poker asks them to be themselves, because the game rewards real behaviour: patience, listening, judgement and the confidence to act on incomplete information. That is why banks, law firms and tech companies have quietly used it for years.
It also sidesteps the two problems that sink corporate entertainment. It needs no prior experience, because our dealers teach the game from the first hand. And it raises no concerns about appropriateness, because there is no gambling. Guests play with fun money throughout. No real money is ever wagered, and no licence is required by your company or your venue.
What Your Team Takes Away
The session is built around three skills that matter as much in a meeting as they do at the table.
Reading people Poker is a study in attention. Who is comfortable, who is bluffing, who has gone quiet. Players leave more aware of the signals they send and the ones they miss, and better at listening to what is not being said.
Negotiation Every hand is a small negotiation: when to push, when to fold, when a strong position is worth pressing and when it is not. The game makes those choices visible, and the debrief connects them straight back to how your team negotiates for real.
Performance under pressure A tournament with the table watching is a controlled dose of the real thing. Guests practise staying calm, thinking clearly and committing to a decision when the stakes feel high, which is the part of the job no slide deck can teach.
How the Session Runs
The workshop runs in four parts and lasts around three to four hours including breaks. Each part stands on its own, and a facilitator ties each one back to the skill it teaches.
1. The Tell A short, lively warm-up in reading body language and spotting a bluff. It gets everyone talking, levels the room between the confident and the cautious, and sets up the theme of the day.
2. Learn the Game Our dealers teach poker from scratch, then set a team negotiation challenge so the rules land through play rather than a lecture. By the end, every guest is comfortable at the table.
3. Your Playing Style A light, guided reflection on how each person makes decisions: bold or measured, intuitive or calculated. It gives the day a personal takeaway, and a vocabulary the team keeps using afterwards.
4. The Tournament The competitive finale. Blinds rise, players are knocked out, and the table narrows to a winner who takes home a trophy. The pressure is real, the stakes are not, and the debrief that follows is where the lessons stick.
Where We Run It
We come to you. The whole setup is mobile, so we bring the tables, the kit and the team to your office or your chosen venue, and we are self-sufficient once we have the space and access. If you would rather host somewhere with more occasion, we can recommend partner venues across London and put you in touch directly, with no mark-up from us on room hire.
We cover London and the home counties, including Berkshire, Surrey, Kent, Essex, Hertfordshire and beyond, so the workshop reaches your team wherever they are based.
Built for Real Corporate Days
The format flexes to the occasion. We regularly shape it for:
Leadership away-days Where the negotiation and decision-making themes do the heavy lifting.
Sales kick-offs Where reading people and holding a nerve map directly onto the job.
Team offsites Where the point is to mix departments and seniority levels and let the competition break down the usual barriers.
Client entertainment Where you want your guests to enjoy themselves and remember who hosted the evening.
We can also build a two-game day that pairs poker with blackjack, adding a session on probability and disciplined decision-making to the people skills poker teaches. Ask us if that suits your group.

Common Questions
Do people need to know how to play poker?
No. Our dealers teach the game from the first hand, and the warm-up is built to settle complete beginners. By the second part of the session every guest is playing comfortably. Mixed-ability groups are the norm, not the exception.
Is this gambling?
No. The workshop is entertainment and training. No real money is ever wagered, and guests play with fun money throughout. No gambling licence is required by your company or your venue, which matters for teams in regulated sectors.
How many people can take part?
The session works from 6 guests up to 60 or more. Each table seats up to 10, and we add tables and dealers to match your group. Tell us your numbers and we will recommend the right setup.
Can you come to our office?
Yes. The whole setup is mobile. We need a private space and access to it, and we handle delivery, setup and breakdown ourselves. If you would prefer a venue with more atmosphere, we can recommend partner venues across London.
How long does the workshop take?
The full four-part session runs around three to four hours including breaks. We can shorten it to fit a conference slot or extend it into a longer away-day. Let us know the shape of your day and we will build it to fit.
Can the day be tailored to a specific theme, like sales or leadership?
Yes. The four-part structure stays, and we tune the challenges and the debriefs to the outcome you want, whether that is negotiation, leadership decision-making, sales performance or recruitment assessment.
