Casino Night Space & Capacity Planner
This page answers the two questions every casino night host asks first: how many tables do we need, and will they fit in the room? It brings together the capacity rule we plan every event by, the table dimensions and recommended floor space for each game we hire out, and the timings for setup, the session, and breakdown. Everything below is played with fun money, so no real money is wagered at any point and no gambling licence is required.
How Many Tables for Your Guest Count
The rule of thumb is simple: allow one table per 20 active guests. “Active” means guests who will actually play, so subtract children, anyone who won’t be in the room during the casino session, and confirmed non-players. If in doubt, round up rather than down: a slightly larger setup improves the experience, and an overcrowded table does not.
Our Collections are built around this rule:
| Guest Count | Tables | The Matching Collection |
|---|---|---|
| Up to 20 | 1 | A single table from our games range |
| Up to 40 | 2 | The Pair |
| Up to 60 | 3 | The Flush |
| Up to 100 | 4 | The Full House, our most popular |
| Up to 150 | 5 | The Straight Flush |
| 150+ | 6+ | The Royale, bespoke, with a dedicated event manager |
If your guest count falls between two sizes, round up. A table with breathing room around it is livelier than one that’s crowded, and guests who can get to the felt stay longer.
On the game mix: for most events we recommend choosing 2 to 3 games, and Roulette & Blackjack is the most popular combination. Tell us your event type and guest profile when you enquire and we’ll recommend the rest.
How Much Space Each Table Needs
Every figure below comes from the Specifications section of the game’s own page. The recommended floor space includes room for players to stand and play, not just the table itself.
| Game | Table Dimensions | Recommended Clear Floor Space | Seated Capacity |
|---|---|---|---|
| Roulette | 280cm × 160cm × 80cm high | 430cm × 310cm | Up to 12 around the table |
| Blackjack | 180cm × 110cm × 100cm high | 330cm × 260cm | Up to 7 |
| Three Card Poker | 180cm × 110cm × 100cm high | 330cm × 260cm | Up to 9 |
| Texas Hold’em Poker | 245cm × 118cm × 80cm high | 395cm × 268cm | Up to 10 |
| Baccarat | 245cm × 118cm × 100cm high | 395cm × 268cm | Up to 8 |
| Craps, 8ft | 250cm × 110cm × 100cm high | 400cm × 260cm | Up to 12 around the table |
| Craps, 12ft | 380cm × 110cm × 100cm high | 530cm × 260cm | Up to 12 around the table |
| Teen Patti | 180cm × 110cm × 100cm high | 330cm × 260cm | Up to 9 |
| Wheel of Fortune | 180cm × 110cm (vertically mounted wheel with table layout) | 330cm × 260cm | |
| Slot Machines | 60cm × 60cm × 180cm high per cabinet | About 60cm × 60cm, plus a 13A socket within reach | 1 player per machine |
Where a figure isn’t published on a game’s own page, we’ve left the cell blank rather than guess. Ask when you enquire and we’ll advise for your exact room.
Room Planning Rules of Thumb
Doorways and access Every table we hire out fits through a standard domestic doorway. If the route to your room involves stairs, a lift, or a long corridor, tell us when you enquire and we’ll plan the load-in around it.
Spacing between tables As a working guide, allow roughly 3.3m × 2.6m of clear space per standard table, with roulette and craps needing more (see the table above). Leave walking room between tables so guests can circulate; the casino should feel like a floor, not a corridor.
Height and lighting The gaming tables stand 80cm to 100cm high, and a slot machine cabinet stands 180cm. We light and dress the tables ourselves; venue PA, staging, and room lighting sit outside the hire, so brief your venue separately on those.
Power Only the slot machines need power: a standard 13A socket within reach of each cabinet. None of the gaming tables lists a power requirement.
Outdoors and marquees The tables work outdoors in suitable conditions: a marquee, gazebo, or covered area on a flat, level surface, with protection from direct rain. Dice, felt, and weather don’t mix, so cover is a requirement rather than a preference.
Your venue. Let your venue know in advance. Most London and Home Counties venues are familiar with fun casino hire, and there are no special licences for them to arrange. Our venue pack has everything they usually ask for, including the public liability certificate, the risk assessment, and the method statement, ready to download.
Timings
Before the session We arrive fully self-sufficient at a time agreed with your venue: 60 to 90 minutes before the casino opens where we can set up immediately before the games, and earlier in the day on busy dates, December in particular. Set-up takes around 45 minutes, and the tables are dressed and ready before your first guest walks in.
The session The standard casino session runs three hours, which suits most weddings, corporate parties, and private events. Two-hour sessions are available for smaller gatherings, extended sessions are available on request, and poker tournament evenings typically run 3 to 4 hours.
After the session When the casino closes, we break down and clear everything cleanly. You’re left with nothing to tidy and a room full of guests still talking about it.

FAQs
How many casino tables do I need for 100 guests?
Four tables. Our rule of thumb is one table per 20 active guests, counting only the people who will actually play, and The Full House, four tables with four croupiers, is the collection built for events of up to 100 guests. It’s our most popular configuration for weddings, corporate Christmas parties, and charity events. If your hundred includes a high proportion of keen players, round up to five tables with The Straight Flush.
How much space does a roulette table need?
A full-size roulette table measures 280cm × 160cm, and we recommend 430cm × 310cm of clear floor space so up to 12 players can stand and play comfortably, with room for the crowd it always draws. It needs the most clear floor space of any game we hire out, so place it first when you plan the room. See roulette table hire for the full specification.
Can casino tables go upstairs or in a marquee?
Marquees, yes: the tables work outdoors under a marquee, gazebo, or covered area on a flat, level surface, with protection from direct rain. As for upstairs rooms, every table fits through a standard domestic doorway, so tell us about the stairs, lifts, and access route when you enquire and we’ll confirm the load-in for your venue.
How long does setup take before a casino night?
Set-up itself takes around 45 minutes, and the tables are dressed and the croupiers briefed before your first guest arrives. Where we are able to set up immediately before the games, we arrive 60 to 90 minutes ahead and you need no extra room hire time beyond that window. On busy dates, December in particular, our logistics are shaped around every event that day, so we more usually set up in the morning or early afternoon, and your venue needs to allow us access earlier. We break down promptly once the session ends.
How many guests can one casino table entertain?
Seated capacity runs from 7 at blackjack up to 12 around roulette or craps at any one time, and guests rotate in and out throughout the evening. Over a standard three-hour session, one table typically entertains 30 to 40 guests, which is exactly why we plan on one table per 20 active guests and round up.
